This Week’s A Better World Media
In this week’s Radio show, Mitchell speaks with environmental activist, entrepreneur, author and one of the leading figures in reversing global warming who provides the science, the costs, the savings and a means of actually preserving our and countless other species from well, extinction, Paul Hawken. This is very exciting for me as Paul’s work The Ecology of Commerce was influential in my thinking some 25 years ago about the good, actually, excellent, business sense behind using ecology-based thinking for business decisions and planning, providing multiple bottom lines and preserving our planet, our home. Paul has been an exemplary entrepreneur, living by the principles of nature and human values. He is one of those heroes we love to bring forth here at A Better World to articulate and make utterly clear what is possible. Please join us at ABC Carpet here in NYC on Oct. 18, and tune in to our interview.
This week’s TV show is with the brilliant British biologist Rupert Sheldrake. Rupert has been credited with popularizing the idea I reference all the time of “morphogenetic fields”, which he didn’t originate but he has elaborated upon so thoroughly that we think of his work when referring to this seminal idea in understanding “how things work” and the influence our minds and energy “fields” have on space, time, things, each other. This was just one of my most enjoyable interviews among thousands. This particular interview focuses on Sheldrake’s book The Sense of Being Stared At, which implies that ‘sixth sense’ we all know we have, a subject that perfectly matches and complements that of the work of Julia Mossbridge and Mitchell’s. The world is slowly catching on to the wisdom and mind-expansion indigenous people across the planet, more wholly in touch with Mother Nature and their own nature, and how we, as part of the same species, can cultivate the same in ourselves.
It should be mentioned that when Mitchell selected Sheldrake’s interview to re-air, it was done without being conscious of the inter-relationship between Julia and Rupert’s work and that both would be on the same week. It was what we refer to as ‘synchronicity” just adding to this week’s “fun quotient”!
